Our Financial Education Journey

Seven years of helping Bulgarian families build stronger financial foundations through practical education and honest guidance.

How We Got Here

What started as a small consulting practice has grown into Bulgaria's trusted resource for personal finance education. Here's our story.

2018
The Beginning
Elena and Georgi started Futrxsys after seeing too many Bulgarian families struggle with basic financial decisions. We opened our Mezdra office with one goal: make financial literacy accessible to everyone, not just the wealthy.
2020
Digital Transformation
The pandemic pushed us online faster than we expected. We developed our first digital courses and discovered we could reach families across Bulgaria who had never had access to financial education before.
2022
Community Impact
We hit a meaningful milestone — helping over 2,000 Bulgarian families create their first budgets and emergency funds. Local banks started referring clients to our education programs.
2024
Expanding Reach
Launched our comprehensive online learning platform and began partnering with Bulgarian schools to introduce financial literacy in secondary education. Our approach is spreading beyond individual families.
2025
Looking Forward
This year we're focusing on workplace financial wellness programs and expanding our resources for small business owners. The goal remains the same — practical education that actually helps people make better money decisions.

Real Projects, Real Results

We learn from every family we work with. Here are three projects that shaped how we teach financial literacy.

Family budget planning session showing financial documents and calculator
The Petkov Family Budget Crisis
Our Approach
When the Petkovs came to us drowning in credit card debt, we started with the basics — tracking every expense for 30 days before making any changes.
What We Learned:
  • Small daily expenses were the real problem, not big purchases
  • They needed emotional support as much as mathematical solutions
  • Simple tracking systems work better than complex spreadsheets
This project taught us that financial education isn't just about numbers — it's about changing habits slowly and providing ongoing encouragement when people feel overwhelmed.
Young professional learning about investment basics with educational materials
Young Professional Investment Program
Our Method
We designed a 12-week program for Bulgarians in their 20s and 30s who wanted to start investing but felt intimidated by financial jargon and minimum investment requirements.
Key Insights:
  • Most participants had no emergency fund — had to address this first
  • Fear of loss was stronger than desire for gains
  • They preferred Bulgarian examples over international case studies
We discovered that investment education needs to start with building confidence in basic money management. You can't teach someone to invest if they're still anxious about their monthly budget.
Small business owner reviewing financial reports and planning documents
Small Business Financial Health
Our Strategy
Working with 15 small Bulgarian businesses to improve their financial record-keeping and cash flow management. Many were mixing personal and business expenses.
Major Findings:
  • Business owners were great at their craft, terrible at bookkeeping
  • They needed systems that took 10 minutes a day, not hours
  • Visual dashboards worked better than detailed reports
This project showed us that business financial education needs to be incredibly practical. Theory doesn't help when you're trying to decide if you can afford to hire another employee next month.

The People Behind Futrxsys

We're not financial gurus promising get-rich-quick schemes. We're educators who believe that good financial decisions come from understanding basics really well.

Elena Dimitrova, Financial Education Specialist
Elena Dimitrova
Financial Education Specialist
Elena spent eight years as a bank loan officer before starting Futrxsys. She got tired of seeing the same financial mistakes repeated and decided to focus on prevention rather than damage control. She has a degree in Economics from Sofia University and speaks fluent "normal person" when explaining complex financial concepts.
Georgi Petrov, Senior Financial Consultant
Georgi Petrov
Senior Financial Consultant
Georgi brings 12 years of experience in financial planning and tax preparation. Before Futrxsys, he ran a small accounting firm and saw firsthand how financial stress affects Bulgarian families. He's particularly good at helping people create realistic budgets that they'll actually stick to for more than three weeks.
What We Actually Do
Budget Planning
Creating budgets that work with real Bulgarian salaries and expenses, not theoretical numbers from American finance books.
Debt Management
Practical strategies for paying down credit cards and loans without giving up everything that makes life enjoyable.
Emergency Funds
Building financial safety nets that actually protect you when unexpected expenses hit.
Investment Basics
Starting to invest with small amounts through Bulgarian banks and European options available to Bulgarian residents.

Where We're Heading

Our goal isn't to make everyone wealthy. It's to help Bulgarian families make confident financial decisions and sleep better at night knowing they're prepared for whatever comes next.
  • Develop financial literacy programs for Bulgarian high schools by late 2025
  • Create workplace financial wellness workshops for mid-sized Bulgarian companies
  • Launch a simple investment platform designed specifically for Bulgarian beginners
  • Build partnerships with credit unions to offer financial education alongside their services
  • Expand our online courses to reach rural areas where in-person education isn't available
